Trial Navigation via Three Gorges Permanent Ship Lock Successful

The trial navigation via the permanent ship lock at the Three Gorges Project Monday was a success, announced the director of the Three Gorges navigation bureau on Monday.

The trial navigation via the permanent ship lock at the Three Gorges Project Monday was a success, announced the director of the Three Gorges navigation bureau on Monday.

Zhang Qingsong said that two passenger ships passed through thelock in two hours and 35 minutes, concluding at 11:55 a.m. Monday.

According to a circular issued by the Ministry of Communications, the permanent ship lock at the Three Gorges Project will open for a one-year period of trial navigation beginning on Monday.
