Six More Bodies Recovered from Flooded Coal Mine in Central China
Rescue workers who had worked for 20 straight days at a flooded coal mine shaft in Anyang city, central China's Henan province, discovered on Thursday the bodies of the six remaining trapped miners.

A total of 42 coal miners were working down the shaft when the Anli colliery was inundated by water seeped from coal seams on May24, but 27 miners escaped, leaving 15 others trapped at the end ofthe shaft.
The bodies of nine other miners were spotted and brought out tothe ground on Monday.
Substantial rescue efforts, involving more than 200 workers, were halted by renewed flooding and intensified gas density days after the disaster.
Local officials said that they were busy coping with problems arising from the accident and the cause of the accident was still under investigation.
Situated in Long'an district of Anyang city, the Anli Colliery, where the calamity occurred, has turned out 60,000 tons of coal annually in the past years since 1997.
