A leading member of the Islamic resistance movement Hamas was killed alongside six other Palestinians Wednesday afternoon in an Israeli reprisal attack on Gaza City, local medics reported.
The slain Hamas leader was identified as Tito Massaoud, a seniormember of the group's military wing the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades.
Israel helicopter gunships fired missiles at a car, killing the Hamas leader, less than an hour after a suicide bombing attack hit central Jerusalem.
At least 16 people were killed in the blast and 70 others wounded, Israeli sources said.
