China hopes that parties concerned will not complicate or intensify the situation regarding the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) nuclear issue, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan on Tuesday.

Kong said China's stance on the DPRK nuclear issue was consistent. China supported maintaining peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and the non-nuclearization of the peninsula.

Noting that the Beijing talks between China, the DPRK and the United States in April were a good start for resolving the issue, Kong said the Beijing process should be continued.

China hoped the international community would continue with their efforts and contribute to the continuation of the process, he said.
