On December 15, last year, 36-year-old Heyuan native, Huang Xingchu, who works in a local restaurant in Shenzhen, got a fever and went to Heyuan Hospital. Two days later he was transmitted to Guangzhou Military General Hospital owing to a deteriorating condition. He was discharged from hospital on January 10. Later Huang was confirmed as the first reported Chinese SARS patient.
