Chinese President Stresses Importance of Mutual trust, Cooperation
Visiting Chinese President Hu Jintao on Thursday stressed the importance of political mutual trust and mutually beneficial economic cooperation in furthering relations between China and Mongolia.
Visiting Chinese President Hu Jintao on Thursday stressed the importance of political mutual trust and mutually beneficial economic cooperation in furthering relations between China and Mongolia.
In a speech delivered at Mongolia's State Great Hural, or parliament, Hu expounded on China's views on its relationship with Mongolia and issues with regard to peace and development in the region.
He told Mongolian parliamentarians that both he and Mongolian President Nachagyn Bagabandy agreed during their talks here that the two countries have decided to establish and develop the partnership of good-neighborliness and mutual trust between them.
China and Mongolia need to trust each other politically, respect each other's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity and respect each other's choice of paths of development,Hu said.
Any problems between the two countries should be handled in thespirit of consultation, cooperation and friendliness, he said.
China and Mongolia also should develop mutually beneficial economic cooperation and at the same time expand cooperation in the fields of science, education and culture so as to achieve common development and prosperity, the Chinese president said.
He also stressed the need to strengthen bilateral cooperation on security matters and continue the efforts to build the China-Mongolia border into a bond of peace, friendship and cooperation.
In international and regional affairs, closer coordination and cooperation between the two countries are needed to maintain regional peace and stability, he said.
China will strive to foster a new concept of security in the region featuring mutual trust, mutual benefit, equality and collaboration, adhere to its stand on resolving disputes, differences and conflicts through dialogue, and work together withother countries to achieve regional security and create favorable economic conditions in the region, he said.
The all-round development of China-Mongolia relations not only conforms to the common interests of the two peoples, but is also important to peace, stability and development in Asia, Hu said.
