The water level at the Jingjiang section downstream of the Three Gorges Dam has continued dropping since the the Three Gorges Reservoir began filling on June 1, but regular navigation has not been affected.

According to a source from the Yangtze waterway administrative department, since May 25, the water level at Jingjiang on the Yangtze River has dropped a total of 4.18 meters because the discharged water volume from the Three Gorges reduced after the dam sluice gates closed down.

But the source claimed that regular navigation at Jingjiang continued as normal thanks to the urgent dredging measures.
