Chinese President Arrives in St. Petersburg

Visiting Chinese President Hu Jintao arrived in St. Petersburg Friday to attend events celebrating the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg.

Visiting Chinese President Hu Jintao arrived in St. Petersburg Friday to attend events celebrating the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg.

Hu arrived here after his state visit to Russia and the participation in the third summit of the leaders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member countries.

The Chinese president was seen off at the airport in Moscow by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Borisovich Khristenko.

The Chinese president will join the leaders from more than 40 countries, regions and international organizations to attend a series of events celebrating the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg.
