Top Legislator: China Willing to Improve Exchange with Afghanistan in Law-making
The Chinese National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, is willing to improve exchange and cooperation with Afghanistan's law-making bodies, Wu Bangguo, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee said in Shanghai Thursday.

The Chinese National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, is willing to improve exchange and cooperation with Afghanistan's law-making bodies, Wu Bangguo, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee said here Thursday.
China was delighted to see that Afghanistan was back on the path of reconstruction and peace after suffering deeply from war, said Wu at a meeting with Afghan Vice-President Nimartullah Shaharani.
Wu said China wished to see full development of Sino-Afghan relations to further benefit the two peoples and improve regional peace and development.
China cared deeply about Afghanistan's development and was gladto see the situation in the country improving day by day under theleadership of new Afghan government, Wu said.
Wu said he believed the new Afghan constitution will help improve Afghanistan's national unity, maintain its sovereign independence and promote its social justice, and it will play an important role in maintaining the country's stability and development.
China was willing to continue its support to Afghanistan's reconstruction within its capacity, Wu said.
Shaharani said he has had friendly and fruitful talks with Chinese leaders during his visit here.
The Chinese government has offered firm support to Afghanistan's peace and reconstruction process and has made important contributions, said Shaharani, for which Afghanistan was grateful.
Shaharani briefed Wu on Afghanistan's domestic situation and the work behind making the country's new constitution.
He emphasized that Afghanistan attached great importance to thework of legislation in the hope of rebuilding the country's legal system to finally realize the goal of rule by law.
Shaharani said Afghanistan opposed any form of terrorism and was willing to work with the international community, including China, to improve anti-terror cooperation and make positive contributions in maintaining regional and world peace.
