China and Russia agreed Tuesday to further strengthen the two countries' strategic partnership of cooperation.
A joint statement, signed by Chinese President Hu Jintao and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, says that through the joint efforts, the mutual political trust has been established.
The two countries are ready to abide by the Russia-China Good-Neighborly Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation, which has paved the way for the sustained and stable development of bilateral tiesin the new century.
China and Russia, the joint statement says, will continue to expand the strategic partnership of cooperation, so as to safeguard the national security of the two countries and bring peace and stability in the region.
