Chinese Mainland Reports 9 New SARS Cases (May 27)

There were nine new severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) cases and four new deaths from the disease between 10:00 a.m. May 26 and 10:00 a.m. May 27 on the Chinese mainland. The cumulative SARS cases rose to 5,322 while the death toll reached 321 respectively.

There were nine new severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) cases and four new deaths from the disease between 10:00 a.m. May 26 and 10:00 a.m. May 27 on the Chinese mainland, the Ministry of Health reported Tuesday.

The cumulative SARS cases rose to 5,322 while the number of SARS patients discharged from hospitals and the death toll reached 2,944 and 321 respectively, the ministry said in a daily report.

Beijing reported nine new SARS cases and four new deaths from the disease from 10:00 a.m. May 26 to 10:00 a.m. May 27, the Ministry of Health said Tuesday.
