US Psychological War on DPRK Doomed to Fail: KCNA
The United States' "psychological war" against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) is doomed to fail, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said in a commentary on Monday.
The United States' "psychological war" against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) is doomed to fail, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said in a commentary on Monday.
The purpose of the US move is to damage the image of the DPRK, and pave the way for imposing sanctions on the DPRK, said the commentary.
The commentary blasted recent US media reports that 20 DPRK nuclear scientists had defected to the United States as a product of "ulterior motives." The US media recently also raised so-called issues of drug-smuggling and counterfeit money in the DPRK,which are non-existent, it said.
"Our scientists are making contributions to the construction of a powerful nation with their intellects. It is definitely impossible for them to defect to the United States because they share the fate with their socialist motherland," the commentary said.
The commentary criticized the US assertion that the DPRK had noway but to participate in the talks on the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula in late April because China cut off the pipelinesto the DPRK for three days, saying it is a childlike and groundless attempt which seeks to sow discord between the DPRK and China.
The United States is now making the same attempts against the DPRK after it achieved some success in the Iraq war by forging a psychological war, but it will not work on the DPRK, the commentary said.
