Beijing Reports More Investment, Foreign Trade

Beijing has received direct foreign investment totaling 223 million US dollars in April, up 50.7 percent from the same period last year, said government officials in charge of foreign business.

Beijing has received direct foreign investment totaling 223 million US dollars in April, up 50.7 percent from the same period last year, said government officials in charge of foreign business.

About 589 million US dollars of direct foreign investment poured into the city during the first four months of this year, according to government sources.

During the past four months, the most investment came from the United States with 95 projects in Beijing, followed by Hong Kong with 94. During the four months, 471 foreign-funded enterprises were approved by the municipal government, up 34.2 percent year onyear.

From January to April, the volume of exports and imports also hit 21.355 billion US dollars, up 39.8 percent from last year.
