Vice-premier Wu Meets World Health Assembly Chairman
Chinese Vice-Premier and Health Minister Wu Yi met Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, the Chairman of the 56th World Health Assembly (WHA), here at the headquarters of the World Health Organization (WHO) on Saturday.

Wu briefed Hossain, who is also Minister of Health and Family Welfare of Bangladesh, on the epidemic of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) in China.
She said SARS is a disease unknown to both China and the world.Although measures taken by the Chinese government at the very beginning were not very effective, this situation was soon rectified.
The vice-premier said that China is willing to fully cooperate with the WHO and China's health departments are now working closely with WHO experts and have already taken many measures according to their advice.
Hossain said that SARS is a common problem faced by humanity. He said Bangladesh will continue to strengthen its cooperation with China and draw on Chinese experience in treating the disease in order to prevent SARS from spreading to Bangladesh.
Wu is attending the 56th World Health Assembly, which takes place this year from May 19 to 28 in Geneva.
