China's capital city Beijing lifted the quarantine on a residential area Monday, reducing the city's quarantined residential areas to two.
The residential area in the eastern part of the city reported no new severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) cases in the past two weeks of quarantine, the city's SARS control team said Monday.
Three hospitals in the city were also released from quarantine Monday.
There remain three quarantined construction sites in the city, the source added.
On Monday, 10,017 people were quarantined for having close contact with SARS patients and suspects in the city.
