China Has Become A Table Tennis Equipment Giant

Mr. Xu Shaofa, secretary-general with Chinese Table Tennis Equipment Industry Committee and former head coach of Chinese national table-tennis team, said that China has become a giant of table tennis equipment.

By the report of the 5th issue of Table Tennis World published lately, Chinese Table Tennis Equipment Committee and the correspondent industry committee have recently held a meeting in Shenfang, Sichuan Province. At the meeting, Mr. Xu Shaofa dealt with the above-said view on the following three bases:

Firstly, since International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) unveiled a series of reforms, the Chinese table tennis equipment industry has input enormous human, material and financial resources in developing blade, rubber and sponge and made major changes as to the ingredient, material and technological processes. Thanks to these efforts, the industry's many products have reached the world first-rate level.

Secondly, so far as its production scale is concerned, China's table-tennis equipment industry boasts of the biggest in the world.

Finally, all of the related foreign brand names have settled down in the Chinese market.

According to the report, all the participants agreed that a significant improvement has been made in the quality of Chinese-made table tennis blades. Besides, it was decided that Chinese Table Tennis Association (CTTA) would add in the technological examination standard for the table tennis blades when registering table-tennis competition equipment this year.
