HK Remains World's Fifth in Foreign Currency Reserve
The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) announced Wednesday that the official foreign currency reserve assets of Hong Kong amounted to 114.2 billion US dollars at the end of April 2003.

In terms of foreign currency reserves ranking, Hong Kong is the world's fifth largest holder of foreign currency reserves, after Japan, Chinese mainland, Taiwan and South Korea.
Including unsettled forward contracts, the foreign currency reserve assets of Hong Kong at the end of April 2003 also stood at114.2 billion US dollars.
Hong Kong's total foreign currency reserve assets represent nearly seven times the currency in circulation, HKMA said.
