Foreign Businessmen Encouraged to Keep up Marketing Activities in HK
Hong Kong government is making efforts avoiding unnecessary foreign restrictions on Hong Kong businessmen and enabling foreign enterprises to continue their business in Hong Kong, Secretary for Commerce, Industry and Technology Henry Tang said here Wednesday.

Speaking in the Legislative Council, Tang said the government has been explaining to foreign consuls and business representatives in Hong Kong the stabilization of the SARS situation in Hong Kong.
"The government has also introduced a series of measures to persuade overseas businessmen to keep up their marketing activities in Hong Kong. Besides, the Trade Department has also joined hands with airlines, hotels, restaurants and retail outletsto offer a wide range of discounts to overseas buyers in order to attract more business visits," Tang said.
With stabilization of the SARS situation, the Hong Kong government is considering launching campaigns reviving the robustness of the economy to promote Hong Kong's image.
Regarding some exorbitant worries over SARS situation in Hong Kong, Tang said imports and exports should not suffer from SARS.
He said there is no epidemiological information suggesting thatcontacts with goods, products or animals shipped from SARS affected areas, have been the source of the virus infection in human. Therefore, normal business has no reason to be hindered by SARS.
