FM spokeswoman: China Sends Diplomats to Baghdad for Embassy Site Checkup

Three Chinese diplomats had been in Baghdad to inspect the Chinese embassy in Iraq, Zhang Qiyue, spokeswoman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, said Tuesday.

Three Chinese diplomats had been in Baghdad to inspect the Chinese embassy in Iraq, Zhang Qiyue, spokeswoman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, said Tuesday.

Zhang said that during their stay in Baghdad between May 2 and 5, the group led by Li Chen, a counselor of the Chinese Embassy inJordan, examined the extent of damage to the embassy in Iraq.

She said the group had returned safely to Jordan after the tour.
