CIRC Approved 'Insurance for Atypical Pneumonia'

Taking a policy of RMB 200 yuan for an atypical insurance of 100,000 yuan, it is now on sale in the eight insurance companies.

Last Monday saw an atypical pneumonia patient in Beijing get in an insurance compensation. She is also the first one who's got it in Beijing. In the meantime, as approved by China Insurance Regulatory Commission the eight insurance companies in China have begun to sell the special short-term policy to ensure the health of the people against atypical pneumonia.

According to the CCTV report, a certain lady atypical pneumonia patient named Liu from Yanshan area of Beijing got her compensation from the insurance company. In 1998, she bought a dual insurance of old age pension and death at a cost of RMB 30,000 yuan. As introduced by the person in charge of the insurance co. for the moment the company has paid her several thousand yuan of compensation as an advanced payment and the final compensation will see to how the case of the patient goes on.

In the initial days of the outbreak of atypical pneumonia all insurance companies confirmed that the atypical pneumonia fell into the category for compensation. At present, all those who've taken the insurance policies for diseases, hospitalization and death may accordingly get in relevant compensation in conformity with the related articles and clauses. If no policy has been taken beforehand the insurance companies are now selling the special short-term policy for atypical pneumonia at a cost of RMB 200 yuan for an insurance of 100,000 yuan and the policyholders can quickly enjoy the benefit of the insurance. Now as approved by the CIRC the eight insurance- companies of Taikang, Taiping, and Yongming of Guangda have begun to sell the insurance policy especially for the atypical pneumonia.
