Beijing Isolates More People, Construction Sites, for SARS Prevention

The number of construction sites in Beijing isolated to check the spread of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) disease had risen from two to three by 10 a.m. on Sunday, while the number of areas under isolation remained on six.

The number of construction sites in Beijing isolated to check the spread of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) disease had risen from two to three by 10 a.m. on Sunday, while the number of areas under isolation remained on six.

The Beijing united anti-SARS work team noted that the three sites were located separately in Dongcheng (East), Xuanwu and Xicheng (West) districts.

The number of people isolated after having close contact with SARS patients and suspected SARS patients rose to 15,873, up 825 from the day before, and 4,726 had been freed from isolation, a rise of 507, according to a latest local epidemiological survey.
