Beijing Consumer Market Prices Remain Stable
Market prices of consumer goods in Beijing remained stable during the May Day holidays, according to a market survey conducted by the Beijing municipal administration for industry and commerce.

Statistics show that in the wholesale market Sunday, the sales of vegetables, and grain and edible oil rose 13.7 percent and 35.3percent from Saturday's trading.
The vegetable price index fell 4.7 percent while that of grain and edible oil rose 37.5 percent.
Sales volumes and prices of meat, eggs, poultry and fruit fell from Saturday.
In the retail sales market, prices of farm produce such as fresh meat, vegetables, and eggs fell slightly.
A survey of 40 local department stores and supermarkets indicated ample supply of foodstuffs and daily necessities with stable prices and sales.
But 20 local department stores and supermarkets were unable to keep up with demand for liquid disinfectant, face masks and clinical thermometers.
