Huang conveyed May Day greetings to workers on a respirator production line in a medical equipment company affiliated to the Beijing Space flight Changfeng Co. Ltd.

He said cadres and workers of all walks of life should unify and spare no effort to boost production in an attempt to ensure adequate supplies for the fight against the epidemic.

Sales of SARS-related medical equipment, medicines, disinfection and prevention products have risen sharply. Huang said quality should not be forgotten when intensifying production.

The Vice-Premier also visited the Northern Electric Power Group Company the same day, stressing that power supply should be fully guaranteed to SARS prevention organizations, SARS-related hospitals and quarantined areas.
