Iran has rejected US secretary of State Colin Powell's accusation that it is one of the countries supporting terrorism.

Iran Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid-Reza Asefi describes Powell's remarks as baseless and a fabrication of truth.

The spokesman denounces US cooperation with Iranian anti-government group of Mujahedin Khalq Organization, which had been supported by the toppled Saddam's regime.

In a global terrorism report released by the US Wednesday, seven countries including Iran, Cuba, Iraq, Sysia, DPRK and Sudan are listed as countries supporting terrorism.
