Beijing Announces SARS Patient Contact Number for Foreigners

The Beijing Foreign Affairs Office has publicized the website address and contact numbers of hospitals that offer SARS treatment for foreigners.

The Beijing Foreign Affairs Office has publicized the website address and contact numbers of hospitals that offer SARS treatment for foreigners.

The telephone numbers for SARS prevention and control are 65121175 or 65192609. The fax number is 65129604.

Foreigners concerned about their health can contact the Beijing United Family Hospital, 600 meters southeast of Lidu Holiday Inn or phone 64333960 or 64333962.

The International SOS Hospital, located at No. 1 North Street XingfuSancun, phone 64629100, is also open to foreigners.

Experts at the Beijing Foreign Affairs Office advised foreigners to contact doctors at one of the two hospitals if they had symptoms of SARS.

Confirmed patients would be transferred to the West Branch of the Beijing Union Medical College Hospital, which is the only designated hospital for foreign SARS patients. It is located at 41 Damucang Lane, western district, phone No. 88068833 or 88068200.

The English SARS hotline at the Beijing Center of Disease Control is 64212486. In case of emergency, people are advised to dial 120 for the Beijing Emergency Aid Center.
