Beijing and Shanghai have adopted stricter measures against SARS.

The capital has decided to step up its examining and approving process of imported medical equipment needed in hospitals. It also encourages the manufacturing of disinfection products to meet the city's demands. Meanwhile, Beijing has strengthened its strike on those who regrate goods or jack up prices. Major hotels in the city are renting out their rooms in turns while sterilizing the buildings.

Shanghai has set up more than 100 monitoring stations in the city which will observe and report the epidemic situation. All travelers into the city are required to fill in health application forms and test their body temperature as an attempt to decrease the spread of the virus.

South China's Guangdong Province has strengthened its control of prices to secure social stability.

Meanwhile, some universities have ordered off-campus teachers and students to stay away from the university grounds to ensure the virus is not brought in. (CRI News)
