Chinese Premier Leaves Bangkok after SARS Meeting
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao left Bangkok for home Wednesday morning after attending the special ASEAN-China meeting on the disease, severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), held here on Tuesday.

Thai Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak and Chinese ambassador Yan Ting'ai saw Premier Wen off at the airport.
Earlier Wednesday morning, Wen and Thai deputy prime ministers Chavalit Yongchaiyudh and Korn Dabbaransi had breakfast together, during which the two sides had a cordial conversation on further strengthening the friendly cooperative ties between the two countries.
Wen came here Tuesday morning to attend the special ASEAN-Chinameeting on SARS at the invitation of Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. The special meeting was held at a time when China and member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) faced serious challenges and threats by SARS.
At the meeting, the Chinese premier and ASEAN leaders agreed totake a series of measures to fight SARS, including the exchange ofexperiences and information on SARS prevention and treatment, so as to contain its spread as early as possible, and eventually eradicate its threat.
On the sidelines of the special meeting, Wen met with a number of ASEAN leaders on further promoting bilateral friendly cooperation.
