Chinese Mainland Reports 2,753 SARS Cases
China's Ministry of Health said Saturday afternoon that the Chinese mainland reported a total of 2,753 confirmed severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) cases by 10:00 a.m. April 26.
China's Ministry of Health said Saturday afternoon that the Chinese mainland reported a total of 2,753 confirmed severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) cases (involving 588 medical workers) by 10:00 a.m. April 26.
Altogether 122 SARS patients had died while 1,285 had been discharged from hospital upon recovery, according to the information office of the ministry.
The total number of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) cases in Beijing were 988. Of the total SARS patients in the Chinese capital, 76 had been discharged from hospital upon recovery and 48 had died, the information office of the ministry said.
From 8 p.m of April 24 to 10 a.m of April 26, Beijing reported 113 new cases, 3 patients recovered and 6 deaths; Tianjin reported 1 new cases; Hebei 3 new cases; Shanxi 22 new cases; Inner Mongolia 4 new cases; Henan 1 new case; Hubei 1 new case; Guangdong 5 new cases, 5 recovered, and 1 death;Sichuan 1 new case; Shaanxi 3 new cases.
In addition, a total of 327 suspected cases were reported from across the mainland during this period, to put the total number of suspected cases to 1,730.
