China Donates 1,000 Motorcycles to Indonesian Police

The governments of China and Indonesia Friday in Jakarta signed the letter of exchange on the donation of 1,000 motorcycles worth one million US dollars to the Indonesian police.

The governments of China and Indonesia Friday in Jakarta signed the letter of exchange on the donation of 1,000 motorcycles worth one million US dollars to the Indonesian police.

The Indonesian government was represented by State Minister for National Development Planning Kwik Kian Gie and the Chinese government by Ambassador Lu Shumin. Indonesian Police Chief General Da'i Bachtiar was also present at the ceremony.

The assistance is aimed at helping the Indonesian police meet the growing demand for transportation and have greater mobility to ensure security in some restive provinces.

Ambassador Lu Shumin said he hoped the assistance could strengthen the cooperation between the two countries.
