Following a seven-day search, rescue workers Thursday morning recovered the bodies of ten miners trapped in a coal mine which was submerged in floodwater last week in north China's Shanxi province. Four miners remain missing.

On April 17, the mine in Guxian County was struck by the worst flooding in 50 years. The main and auxiliary shafts were both inundated. Of the twenty miners working in the shafts at the time, six escaped, while 14 others were stranded.

Following the accident, the local government set up an emergency rescue team which did its utmost to rescue the missing miners.
