Five Companies Prequalified for the National Stadium Ownership Tender

Five companies from home and abroad have been prequalified for ownership tender for the National Stadium, the main stadium for the 2008 Olympic Games, the Beijing Development Planning Commission (BDPC) announced Tuesday.

Five companies from home and abroad have been prequalified for ownership tender for the National Stadium, the main stadium for the 2008 Olympic Games, the Beijing Development Planning Commission (BDPC) announced Tuesday.

These companies should by June 30 submit their formal bidding documents for the second round of selection, BDPC said.

A judging panel will choose one company as the co-owner of the National Stadium with the Beijing State-0wned Assets Management Co.Ltd. (BSAM), BDPC added.

The winner and BSAM will be in charge of construction and operation of the National Stadium.

Situated in the south of the Olympic Green, the National Stadium will cover a floor area of 145,000 square meters.

Construction of the National Stadium is set to begin on December 24.
