President Hu Jintao Meets DPRK Guests
Chinese President Hu Jintao said Tuesday that in recent years, China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) have enhanced understanding, trust, friendship and cooperation by maintaining the tradition of high-level visit exchanges and timely communication on major issues.

During a meeting with Jo Myongrok, first deputy chairman of the DPRK Defense Commission and director general of the Political Bureau of the Korean People's Army, Hu said the two nations, their leading parties and their peoples have established a profound friendship in the long-term revolutionary struggle and socialist construction.
Created and fostered by the old generation of leadership, the friendship has withstood the test of time and been deeply rooted in the hearts of the two peoples, said Hu.
Hu, also general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), said the development of bilateral relations is also thanks to military exchanges.
The CPC and Chinese government treasure the traditional friendship with the DPRK and are willing to further the good-neighborly and friendly cooperative relations with the DPRK comrades.
Jo Myongrok said the DPRK and China enjoy a traditional friendship, which has withstood the test of blood and fire.
The DPRK treasures the relationship with China and is determined to enhance the friendly bilateral relations, said Jo Myongrok.
