31 New SARS Cases Reported in Guangdong over Past Five Days

During the period of April 16-20, south China's Guangdong Province reported 31 new severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) cases and two deaths, with the new cases 16 less than the previous five days.

During the period of April 16-20, south China's Guangdong Province reported 31 new severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) cases and two deaths, with the new cases 16 less than the previous five days.

Of the total new cases, 28 were found in Guangzhou, while two were in Jiangmen and one in Shenzhen.

During the period, 59 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.

So far, the province has reported 1,317 cases in total, of which 1136 have recovered.

The province will make public information about SARS cases on adaily basis starting April 21, according to the local health department. Previously, the information was released every five days.
