Chinese Strong Woman Wang Breaks World Records

Chinese strong woman Wang Mingjuan lifted 117.5kgs in the national women's weightlifting championships Friday in Pingdingshan, breaking her own worldrecord of 115.5kg in the women's 48kg category.

Chinese strong woman Wang Mingjuan lifted 117.5kgs in the national women's weightlifting championships Friday in Pingdingshan, breaking her own worldrecord of 115.5kg in the women's 48kg category.

The 17-year-old ace lifter not only broke the jerk world recordof 115.5kg set in world championships in Warsaw last November, butalso raised the record of the total to 210 kg, three kilograms better than the previous.

Wang also snatched 92.5 kg to level her own world record set inWarsaw last November.

As expected Wang won this category's gold medal, which extendedher record-breaking times to six. Gao Wei beat Li Zhuo to win thesilver medal with the same weight of 202.5kg thanks to a lighter body weight.
