Macao's SARS Preventive Measures in Line with WHO Guideline: WHO Representative
Macao's preventive strategies and measures against SARS are completely in line with the World HealthOrganization's (WHO) guideline for the control of the disease in priority countries and regions, said a WHO representative.

WHO representative Kouichi Morita, who arrived in Macao SpecialAdministrative Region (SAR) early Saturday morning, was briefed byofficials of the Health Services on the plan to prevent the SevereAcute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) in a private meeting.
"Macao is taking conceivable measures to curb the spread of SARS, which are completely in line with the WHO's guideline," he said at a press conference after the meeting.
Macao has so far not identified any SARS case.
He said that the research of SARS is being actively conducted. However, it still needs time to confirm the cause and the transmission forms of the epidemic.
Morita will make a four-day inspection of the SAR. He will study the medical facilities and isolation wards and camps as wellas the Center of Disease Control and Prevention, which is responsible for case investigation and contact tracing, surveillance, public advisory guidelines and community control of the SARS.
