A Palestinian young man was shot deadby Israeli troops Saturday in a village south of the West Bank townof Hebron, Palestinian medical sources said.
Ghaseb El-Hawareen, 22, was killed in the village of Dahreya by Israeli troops' gunfire, the sources at the Alya hospital said. He was dead shortly after being hit in the head by a bullet, the sources said.
Israeli soldiers clashed with some Palestinian youths who threw stones at them in the village at the time, eyewitnesses said. But Hawareen was not one of them.
A total of 3,152 people, including 2,373 Palestinians, have beenkilled since the Palestinian Intifada, or uprising, began in September 2000.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army raided other neighborhoods in the area of Hebron, and arrested at least seven Palestinians.
