From Which Provinces Do China's Top 400 Richest Come?
The April issue of Guangdong-based magazine "New Fortune" published the nation's first ranking list of the richest Chinese people. Among the top 400 richest, 62 are from Zhejiang, 48 from Guangdong, the two provinces taking over one fourth of the total in number. If we add Beijing, Shanghai and Jiangsu, richest men from the five provinces and municipalities account for half of the total.

If we add Beijing, Shanghai and Jiangsu, richest men from the five provinces and municipalities account for half of the total.
The 400 people, each in possession of a fortune no less than 200 million yuan, boast a total fortune equivalent to 303.1 billion yuan, almost the GDP of Guizhou Province with a population of 38 million for three years to put together.
Rong Zhijian of CITIC Pacific Limited toped the list to become the richest Chinese with a fortune of 6.11 billion yuan, followed by Lu Guanqiu of Wanxiang Group (5.24 billion yuan), Chen Lihua from Fu Wah International (3.85 billion yuan) and Liu Yongxing from East Hope Group (3.5 billion yuan). The top 10 also include Xu Rongmao from Shimao Group, Yang Zhuoshu from Zhuoda Group, Hebei Province, Hu Chengzhong family from Delixi Group and Ye Lipei from Zhongsheng Group.
