Four US Soldiers Wounded in Suicide Attack in Baghdad

Four US Marines were seriously wounded in a suicide attack at a US checkpoint in central Baghdad on Thursday night.

Four US Marines were seriously wounded in a suicide attack at a US checkpoint in central Baghdad on Thursday night.

An Iraqi attacker detonated explosives at the checkpoint about 7:30 p.m. (11:30 a.m. EDT) near the Palestine Hotel, local press reported.

A week ago, three US soldiers were killed in a suicide attack in western Iraq when two Iraqi women blew themselves up.

The first suicide attack took place on March 29, when a bomber drove a taxi and blew himself up as he approached a roadblock in northern Najaf, killing four US soldiers.
