Seven Killed in India-controlled Kashmir
Seven people, including a leader of the local People's Democratic Party (PDP) and five militants, were killed in separate incidents in India-controlled Kashmir in the last 24 hours, the Press Trust of India (PTI) reported Wednesday evening.

Unidentified militants shot dead PDP block president Abdul Razak Rather inside his house in a village in Anantnag district early Wednesday morning, a police spokesman was quoted as saying.
Indian army troops foiled an infiltration bid by a group of heavily armed militants near the line of control in Rajouri district, killing two of them in a gunfight, he said.
Two other militants were shot dead and two Indian security men were injured in an encounter in Doda district, the spokesman added.
Indian troops shot dead a self-styled deputy district commanderof Jamiat-ul-Mujahideen, a Islamic group active in the Kashmir valley, in Kupwara district on Wednesday, according to the spokesman.
Militants killed a waiting passenger at a bus stand in Baramulla district on Wednesday afternoon, he said.
Another group of rebel militants attacked an Indian security post in Anantnag on Tuesday night, injuring six people, PTI reported.
