World's Largest Container Ship Arrives in Shanghai
The Lxel Maersk, considered the world's largest container ship, arrived here early Tuesday morning.

The Lxel Maersk, considered the world's largest container ship, arrived here early Tuesday morning.
The 352.1-meter-long container ship, carrying 110,000 tons of cargo, is the largest ship ever to dock at the
Shanghai
port.
The Lxel Maersk, made in
Denmark
on Jan. 1, 2003, set off on its first voyage on March 3 and unloaded 1,384 containers weighing 2,200 tons here.
The Shanghai port received 3,855 container ships in the first quarter of this year.
Customs statistics show that export and import volume via Shanghai totaled 40.15 billion yuan (4.85 billion US dollars) in the first quarter of this year, a year-on-year rise of 38.4 percent.
