Chinese Vice-premier Meets Volkswagen CEO

Chinese Vice-Premier Huang Ju met Friday with Dr.Bernd Pischetsrieder, chief executive officer of automobile giant Volkswagen AG of Germany, and his party.

Chinese Vice-Premier Huang Ju met Friday with Dr.Bernd Pischetsrieder, chief executive officer of automobile giant Volkswagen AG of Germany, and his party.

Huang spoke highly of Volkswagen's efforts for the promotion ofSino-German economic and technological cooperation and briefed thevisitors on China's economic development and opening.

He said Sino-German relations had maintained a sound development momentum and Volkswagen had enjoyed successful cooperation with China.

Noting that Volkswagen had contributed much to the development of China's automobile industry, Huang said he hoped the company would continue the long-term cooperation.

Pischetsrieder referred to China's remarkable economic achievements and said Volkswagen would, as always, take an active part in the development of China's automobile industry and furtherexpand cooperation with China.

The visitors are here as guests of the State Development and Reform Commission.
