Strong Aftershock Hits Xinjiang
An aftershock measuring 5.2 degrees on the Richter scale shook the counties of Jiashi and Bachu Monday morning, over a month after they were hit by a major earthquake.

Sources with the China Seismological Bureau said that so far there are no reports of casualties.
The quake occurred at 7:15 a.m., with the epicenter 70 km from the county town of Jiashi and 90 km from the Bachu county town.
Gao Guoying, director of the Forecast Center of the Xinjiang Seismological Bureau, said aftershocks measuring above five degrees are still possible in the post-quake period.
According to the Xinjiang Seismological Bureau, over 5,000 aftershocks have occurred since the two counties were hit by an earthquake measuring 6.8 degrees on the Richter scale on Feb. 24.
The tremor on Monday was the fifth aftershock measuring above 5 degrees on the Richter scale.
