Sinopec to Start Oil Production in Nigeria This Year

China's second largest oil producer, Sinopec, is to commence operations at an oilfield in Nigeria this year. Its annual output is expected to be 200,000 tons, or about 4,100 barrels per day.

Production is due to begin by the end of the year at Stubb Creek field in the Niger Delta region.
