Iraqi Vice President Taha Yassin Ramadan said on Saturday that there would be more suicide bombings against the US troops in Iraq.
The remark came after a suicide bomb killed four US soldiers at a military checkpoint near Najaf in cental Iraq.
Addressing a news conference, Ramadan identified the bomber as Ali Jaafar al-Noamaji, a father of several children.
"This is just the beginning. You will hear more pleasant news later," Ramadan said.
Asked whether suicide bombings will now become a policy of the Iraqi military, the vice president said "It will be routine military policy. We will use any means to kill our enemy in our land and we will follow the enemy into its land."
"Any method that stops or kills the enemy will be used. What are they doing in our land? let them pack and go," the vice president said.
"The United States will turn the whole world to martyrs against it," he said.
"What do they expect? The Arabs and Muslims are not allowed to develop missiles and bombs as powerful as theirs," Ramadan said.
Thousands of Arab volunteers were arriving in Iraq to fight the invading US and British forces, Ramadan added.
The suicide attack occurred at a US checkpoint on the highway north of Najaf. A taxi stopped close to the checkpoint and the driver signaled for help. The car exploded when the US soldiers approached it.
