China Concerned About Bus Accident in Kyrgyzstan
Chinese President Hu Jintao has enjoined government departments concerned to act quickly in handling affairs related to a bus fire in neighboring Kyrgyzstan that killed 19 Chinese citizens, the Foreign Ministry said Saturday.

A regular bus belonging to a transportation company in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, northwest China, was on its way back from Bishkek, capital of Kyrgyzstan, early Thursday morning, when it caught fire 260 kilometers away from Bishkek.
Shortly after the accident, officials of the Chinese Embassy in Kyrgyzstan rushed to the scene and found 19 Chinese citizens dead.
Learning of the accident, President Hu showed great concern and enjoined related departments to act quickly in making investigations and handling related affairs properly.
Chinese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Hong Jiuyin had an emergency meeting Friday with officials from the Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan, requiring the Kyrgyzstan side to take all possible measures to find out the real cause of the accident and apprehend the murderer as soon as possible, while keeping the Chinese side informed of the progress of the investigation.
President of Kyrgyzstan Askar Akayevich Akayev, shocked at the accident, showed his condolence to the Chinese victims through Ambassador Hong.
President Akayev also instructed the Kyrgyzstan government departments concerned to find out the cause of the accident and punish the murderer according to law.
Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Nikolai Tanayev has signed an order to establish a special government committee, led by Deputy Prime Minister Kubanychbek Zhumaliyev, to take care of the investigations.
