The US-British air bombing and missile attacks on Baghdad resumed at 6:35 a.m. local time (0335 GMT) on Saturday.
Very powerful explosions caused very strong air pressure on thewindows of the Xinhua correspondents' office in northern Baghdad, which have to be left open despite cold weather, so as to avoid the shattering pressure.
Fire and smoke were seen in different parts of Baghdad, with thick black smoke caused by fire. At one point, huge mushroom-likesmoke was observed rising into the sky.
