Two More US Rockets Fell on Iranian Soil: Iranian Military

Two more missiles fired by US-led forces hit a village in southwest Iran, close to the border with Iraq, the official IRNA news agency reported on Saturday.

Two more missiles fired by US-led forces hit a village in southwest Iran, close to the border with Iraq, the official IRNA news agency reported on Saturday.

An Iranian military commander told the agency the two rocket hit the village on Saturday, which is near the border with al-Fao peninsula, but he did not say whether the rockets caused any casualties or other damage.

The officer also said that US and British warplanes violated Iran's airspace three times on Saturday and five times on Friday during their operations against targets in southern Iraq.

Iranian border guards remained in full preparedness, he added.

on Friday an oil refinery depot in the city of Abadan, about 50 km east of the southern Iraqi city of Basra, was hit by a rocket, injuring two people. The rocket caused a strong boom and panic among local citizens.

Iran has lodged a protest against the violation of Iranian airspace by British and US warplanes with the British ambassador inTehran and his Swiss counterpart, who looks after US interests in Iran.

Iran has reiterated that it will not back any side in the US-ledwar on Iraq.
