Name Brands Make East China City Highly Competitive

A group of nationally-known name brands, including Haier, Tsingtao, Hisense and Double Stars, are making east China's Qingdao city more competitive.

A group of nationally-known name brands, including Haier, Tsingtao, Hisense and Double Stars, are making east China's Qingdao city more competitive.

Sixteen national and 73 provincial name brands in the city haveso far been recognized by the country and Shandong Province, home of Qingdao, respectively.

The name brands play an important role in increasing Qingdao's competitive power. Sales income, industrial added-value and profits of the ten biggest enterprises in the city each accounts for about 40 percent of the city's total.

"It is the traditional industrial bases and the brand-producingenvironment created by the local government and the creative operation of entrepreneurs that make the name brands in Qingdao," said Xia Geng, mayor of the port city.

In order to breed and develop name brands products, the local government selected the Qingdao Haier Group Company and Tsingtao Brewery Limited to be directly under its charge.

Meanwhile, a scientific decision-making and management system has been set up for the name brands of enterprises.

Now the enterprises have formed a new mechanism of labor resources development and gathered a group of high-level technicians and managers.
