The US-led forces are continuing bombardment in the west of Baghdad Saturday morning, with smoke billowing over the city, a Xinhua correspondent said.
So far, it is unclear which targets have been hit.
Earlier, at dawn on Saturday, US-led forces resumed Missile attacks on Baghdad as air raid warning sirens went off in the capital.
The new missile attack occurred at 05:30 a.m. local time, with large explosion heard in the city.
This was the first time that US-led forces air raided Baghdad in the daylight since the war against Iraq began on Thursday.
Several hours earlier, bombs dropped by US war planes hitting targets in the eastern part of the city, with huge explosions heard and the sky illuminated by flames and anti-aircraft fire.
Meanwhile, Iraqi Information Minister Mohammad al-Sahaf told reporters Saturday that missiles struck the main palace complex ofPresident Saddam Hussein last night.
Two more presidential palaces were also hit during last night'sraids, with the front gate of one palace was completely destroyed by US missiles, Sahaf said.
The latest air raids were part of US "shock and awe operation,"which started Friday evening.
