Chinese premier Wen Jiabao met Wednesday with Edmund Ho Hau Wah, chief executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR).

Chinese Premier Meets Macao Chief Executive

met Wednesday with Edmund Ho Hau Wah, chief executive of the
Macao
Special Administrative Region (SAR).
Ho is in
Beijing
for the first session of the 10th National People's Congress.
During the meeting Ho reported to the premier the current conditions of Macao SAR.
Wen said that the Macao SAR government headed by Edmund Ho Hau Wah has made great progress since Macao's return to the motherlandthree years ago.
He believed the SAR will make achievements even greater than italready has. Wen also pointed out that the central government is deep concerned about the development of Macao and will continuously implement the "One country, two systems" policy to support the work of Macao and its chief executive.
Wen noted that Macao should utilize its regional advantage to strengthen connections with the Chinese mainland and overseas, in order to achieve the common target of development.
He also said the central government has adopted some special policies for the
Hong Kong
SAR, and if Edmund Ho Hau Wah and the Macao SAR also request, these policies can also be implemented in Macao.
